i use common names they come from a game i played i liked the name so i used it and a title showing the character type-

yeah, i do the same thing. Its important to have an easly seen name as a officer. So Jeremy untouchable...war/?...

My monk, necro and deleted warrior have/had the same first name.
My mesmer and ritualist have/will have the same first name.
My eles last name refers to my monks/necros first name.
My assassins name will be more unique.

So I kind of have a system.. lol. Everyone I know knows the names of all my chars anyway, so it doesnt really matter.

I made a ranger in pvp named Die Kitty Die and ran into someone named I Heart Kitties, we teamed up and pwnt. it was pretty funny.

Every character I make is unique, so it would seem odd to give them all similar names. And besides, people can easily see who you are if they're in the same guild or have you on their friends list.

The only exceptions I've made is when I was flip-flopping between necro and ranger for Fina, and for some characters on my FPE account. Ashley Starfire to try out an ele, and Shayna Silven to try out a ranger.

4 different names as i seen using the same common word etc in them as boring n i trust in my guildies memory enough to remember 4 names n be able to know who i am after all this time.

names = Scotch And Wry(PvP), Zekon Mordecai, Sora Nishino and Nephren Cerberus.

Even though after a while you get to recognize all your guildmates' character names, I've always found a common name "thread" to be helpful.

Sleazehs Spent Rage (Nec)
Sleazehs Frail Ego (Ra)
Son of Sleazeh (Mes)
Sleazehs Sword (Wa)
Sleazeh of GCoN (Ele)

for PvP only slots, I either use S L E A Z E H, or on occassion either Echoed Mending or Frenzied Heal Sig

my preview ritualist was Sleazehs Bitter Rue, which I will continue with I think. Haven't got as far as assassin yet.

Originally I wasn't picking related names, but for the last 3-4 months or so as I redo characters, I've been putting Sage in the name along with something that goes with the profession, like Sage Illusionist(Mesmer) or Sage of the Forces (Ele) or Sage Medicine Man (Monk), etc....Older and wiser (hence Sage).

All of my characters have names of greek origin, and all have the first name "Astraea."

Loose (very loose) translations follow:
Astraea Zopyros --> "Glowing Star." Elementalist. Currently a LVL 5 E in pre.
Astraea Boitheia --> "Helping Star." Monkey. LVL 20 on Ice Caves of Sorrow.
Astraea Apati --> "Illusionary Star." Mesmer. LVL 13 in Lion's Arch.
Astraea Mystikos --> "Hidden Star." Assassin. Leftover from FPE.

I've had a few others, but won't list them (should I decide to use them again).

I like having the same last name for identifiability. So all my characters are surnamed Anadri, a practice I plan to continue on into factions. My mesmer is my primary play character, though, so she got my real name, Robin.

Many are the Aspects of Anadri. Even my mules! (Craftkeep Anadri, Weaponkeep Anadri, and my personal favorite, Ms Elani Anadri.)

I did break with convention in *one* case because it was just too good. I have a monk I keep pre-sear to help out friends/guildies (Level 10.75 so far!) who is a Monk/Mesmer. Or, as is written in the party window, Mo/Me. Her name? Raths Outgrabe.

My ranger and my assassin will be the only ones with surnames, otherwise my characters have names like High Priest Jayge (i was a newb, dont kill me) and Deception Jayge (mesmer... yeah.). Jayge Arcamenel is always my favorite though.
